UBD Saturday group ride
L-R: me, Willis, Mike, Brian, and Martin
I`ve been creating as long as I can remember. I was always drawing and painting something. As a child I would copy comics and cartoon characters. Later I would make up pirates, knights, and vikings. As a fan of books like Lord of the Rings and King Arthur I was a fan of Howard Pyle and NC Wyeth. In high school it was Roger Dean and those Yes album covers. I was never into the old masters or their art because the subject matter did not interest me. That never changed. I still do not care for most of that art except that I know some of it is great and use it to study technique. There have always been quite a few artists I admire and study to learn how they did their art and how it may apply to my style.
My other love is music and some of my favorites are shown below.
When I want to get out and refresh there is cycling. I like everything bikes. I just love being out on my Bianchi and pedaling for miles. It is so relaxing and peaceful. I am a part of the United By Design cycling team. We do a lot of rides and some for charities. Our biggest event is Bike MS150 in September of each year. It`s great to do something you love and also help a good cause.
I am currently on the gallery committee for Heartland Art Club and also in charge of the members gallery room. That is where we have our Group of Eight shows. There are four of those each year and feature eight artists that are members.
If you wish to contact me there is a email link at the bottom of each page. Also a link to my Facebook and Instagram pages.
