EXPERIMENTS IN WHITE

Drawings of flowers from reference in the park. Graphite and watercolor on Crane cotton paper. Both are 5x7 inches. 12.5x17.5 cm.

BOTANICAL DESIGN

These flowers were designed as stylized representations of the flowers. The graphite drawings were then glazed with color to give them a old muted look. I find this a very appealing way to use color. Art is 8x11 inches on Saunders Waterford hot press watercolor paper. 20x27.5 cm.

RAPTORS

Sketches of a Bateleur Eagle, Black and White Hawk Eagle, and a Philippine Eagle. Graphite and watercolor on Saunders Waterford paper. Art is 5x7 inches. 12.5x17.5 cm.

RED TAIL HAWK

I did this portrait of a red tail hawk from pictures I took at a raptor event. It was put on by the Missouri Falconers and after the presentation they stayed and let anyone interested get up and close to the birds. This hawk was amazing. This piece was juried into the Repre-Sensational national show being held at Heartland Art Gallery in Kirkwood MO. The art is graphite, pastel, and ink on Arches watercolor paper. 13x20 inches. 32.5x50 cm.

Update, I am very happy to say that this art was purchased by the man that cared for this hawk. He released it back into the wild and will now have the art to hang in his home. Big thank you to Brett!
