MARIA

I set up an original pose and design with a theme of loss and hope. The old window frame with broken glass adds to the feeling that all is not well. I like creating art that allows the viewer to think about what could be happening. The art is graphite and pastel on Arches watercolor paper. The art is 7x15. 17.5x37.5 cm.

TONY IOMMI

Iommi was the guitarist for Black Sabbath. He is one of my favorite guitarists because of his guitar tone and music he created. Art is graphite and pastel on Strathmore 400 series paper. 11x15 inches. 27.5x37.5 cm.

 

RONNIE JAMES DIO

Dio was the singer in the bands Elf, Rainbow, and Black Sabbath before forming his own band as a solo artist. That band was called DIO. He was one of the top rock singers of the last fifty years with an amzing vocal style and ability. This portrait is created with liquid graphite and Polychromos pencils on Pastelmat paper. Art is 6.5x9.5 inches. 16.25x23.75 cm.

MARIA FRANZ of HEILUNG

I based this piece on Maria Franz of the band Heilung. I wanted to use their themes and music to set up a mystical forest setting. This relates to their music and atmosphere. Pastel and graphite on Stonehenge paper. Art is 16x24 inches. 40.5 x 61 cm.

 

TAYLOR MOMSEN

Taylor is the singer and songwriter for the band The Pretty Reckless. This was done with graphite and pastel on Strathmore 400 series paper. Art is 8.5x12.5 inches. 21.25x31.25 cm.

ALISSA WHITE-GLUZ

Alissa is the singer for the band Arch Enemy. She has a nice natural singing voice but most of her singing in the band is a growling rough style that figures into the bands sound. I prefer her natural voice. This one is graphite on Arches hot press watercolor paper with color over the top. Art is 12x18 inches. 30x45 cm. FEATHER HAT

Portrait of woman in victorian costume. This reminds me of the Mina character in DRACULA. Portraits in costume are always more interesting to draw. Graphite and pastel on Crane cotton paper. Art is 8x11 inches. 20x27.5 cm.

 

ALEAH STANBRIDGE

Aleah was the singer and one of the songwriters for the band Trees Of Eternity. I worked with the music themes and their name to place her in a forest. I wanted it to have a quiet walking through the trees setting with the glow she radiated. Art is graphite and pastel on Strathmore 400 series paper. Art is 7x10 inches. 17.5x25 cm.
